bb7 is looking for an individual to provide leadership, planning, and execution of test system project development, execution and technical support for the introduction of Automated Test Systems and test software applications for NPI and existing manufacturing for one of our medical device clients in Milwaukee, WI. This position will be direct hire.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team to produce equipment and develop automated test systems on National Instruments based test platform for new product introductions, including whole system fabrication, qualification, debug, documentation, manufacturing introduction and service
  • Ensure regulatory compliance through Design Qualification. Responsible for ensuring rigor in qualification protocol and execution, analysis of results to acceptance criteria, and final acceptance
  • Drive improved product quality by identifying manufacturing issues, developing advanced manufacturing cost-effective solutions, and overseeing successful implementation into Test Systems
  • Work with Test Engineering leader to identify and resolve test system design and quality problems related to design of fixture circuit boards, custom cabling, electrical schematics or assembly
  • Monitor and improve productivity using Lean Six Sigma or related tools, while ensuring all customer commitments are met in a timely, quality and cost-conscious manner
  • Ensure regulatory compliance through Quality & Validation. Responsible for ensuring rigor in determining processes requiring validation, development of plans and analysis criteria, execution and final analysis and acceptance
  • Drive continuous simplification of QMS methods and their applications by working with cross-functional team including Operations and Quality Assurance
  • Ability to collaborate and lead in a global environment, across cultures, geographies, and time zones
  • Drive AME initiatives across sites while providing business-wide impact and enabling sharing of best practices across the Global Supply Chain

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related technical degree and 3+ years’ experience or Associate Degree and 5+ years of experience in production, engineering or troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with tester development
  • Demonstrated experience with LabVIEW
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical and planning skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to identify and implement Best Practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • National Instruments TestStand and LabVIEW experience 4+ years
  • Hands-on experience designing fixture hardware and test system software for complete test systems
  • Demonstrated basic Electronic, DFT and Automation solution design skills
  • Electrical Engineering major with hands-on pneumatic and electrical fixture experience
  • Experience creating test system design documentation
  • 6-sigma DMAIC & DFSS certified
  • Experience developing tools and templates
  • Demonstrated program or project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead-execute manufacturing technology or automation projects
  • Experience working with global teams & leading global projects
  • Experience working in a highly regulated manufacturing environment (i.e. medical, aviation)
